DE MEESTER 2017
On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, the promotion prize De Meester will be presented for the third time in Het Nieuwe Instituut. Fleur Groenendijk Foundation has created the annual architectural award in collaboration with the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture (RAvB). The prize, for which only graduates of the academy are eligible, is intended to support the promotion of the work of the architect or urban planner and amounts to € 5000.00.
Based on the idea that architecture and urban planning are disciplines that, in addition to their academic relevance, are mainly the society, a new structure has been chosen for awarding the prize. The three nominated candidates will be asked to present their plans live during an evening-filling and publicly accessible program, live to the public and the jury. The judges will respond to the presentations on the spot. The choice for the winner of De Meester 2017 will also be announced on the same evening.
The Promotional Prize De Meester is presented annually by the Fleur Groenendijk Foundation through a changing independent jury, with members from the disciplines of architecture, urban design, culture & science and media. The composition of the jury changes annually with the exception of a permanent member as representative of the Foundation.
