VAN DER MANDELE PENNING
BY SIEKA ROMAN OF THE SWITCH

RHOON – Entrepreneur Fleur Groenendijk from Rhoon received the Mr. K.P. van der Mandele penny from the hands of CvK Paul Smit in the Rotterdam Hall of the World Trade Center.

It is for the eighth time that this prestigious medal is awarded. The medal symbolizes responsible entrepreneurship. Under the chairmanship of Mr. Jan Loorbach, the members of the jury are looking for an entrepreneur who is eligible for this medal every year. “It is especially important to get those entrepreneurs in sight that work behind the scenes. Fleur Groenendijk is such an entrepreneur, “according to jury member Gillis. ,, These are initiatives that testify to responsible citizenship. This means that the initiative primarily serves the public interest and not the interests of the entrepreneur concerned. “Interviewer Jan-Dirk Stouten questioned Fleur Groenendijk about the significance for him of the token to be received and his motives behind his efforts. Jan Dirk Stouten: ,, I hardly dare to ask, but what is going through you? “Fleur Groenendijk: ,, I am very honored that I get a picture of responsible entrepreneurship outlined. I’m really happy with that! “The Rhoon entrepreneur was chairman of Groenendijk Yellow Cabin, a listed company incorporated in GE Capital Modular Space. He supports social and business initiatives in many areas. With his Fleur Groenendijk Foundation he supports young artists and architects. De Meester is an annual prize awarded by Fleur Groenendijk to young architects to further develop their talents. ,, If you do not have to ‘do what’ then do you float ?, was Smit’s question. “The satisfaction”, Groenendijk replied.
